Origin Gems® is delighted to announce Wakaas Khan as the winner of the 2026 Origin Gems® Gemology Competition. He has been awarded a fully funded scholarship to study gemology at the University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar (UET), including accommodation.

With a background in geology and experience as a mining engineer at emerald mines in Swat and other mining sites across Pakistan, Wakaas stood out for his knowledge, dedication and vision for the future of Pakistan’s gemstone industry.

We hope this opportunity will help him develop into a capable field gemologist and contribute positively to the gemstone trade and wider community. We also look forward to potential future expeditions to gemstone mines across Pakistan.

Congratulations to Wakaas Khan on this achievement!
